3rd March 2010 Research Progress - New York trip feedback
Expect the skyscraper, what let me feel interesting is that although American speak the same language as British people, but the culture is slightly different.
In my view , american have incredible ability to tell a wonderful brand story for such a simple thing, like M&M chocolate, It is just a simple pill of chocolate, isn't it? But look what they have added in!
It is not important any more whether it is real or fake, yes, is a kind of fake real. The importance is they create a real relationship beyond a pill of chocolate, they creative a authentic brands. Just imagine what in your memory after you go around the shop and take one M&M chocolate.

I just wondering if I can handle these kinds of magic. I can do a campaign for fashion brands better! >--<
After that, Man Ray is really a pioneer artists , his art exhibition in the Jewish Museum is stunning, leave a enormous impression on me . May Ray take the advantage of different media, painting, installation art, photography, even poetry. Creative art work cross different genres, surrealism , cubism.
All in all , thank's for god I experience such a art atmosphere in America. I will remember it forever.
I will update my new research state in the following days!

Some idea and experience about Methodology lecture and books
We start our PGD Phase Study from 11.01.2010. In this phase , I reviewed my learning agreement and start to read books , articles and journals. the next step is draw mind map:)
As my dear team leader Yvonne mentioned, during our research processing, we should do visualizing research. Meanwhile I read a book The aesthetic economy of fashion :written by Entwistle, Joanne,
Although the main content is talk about fashion buyer. But the preface and title really inspired me. Fashion is a aesthetic economy. That's the reason why it is so special.
I bought books on Amazon as follow:
A:
Research Methodology: A Step-by-Step Guide for Beginners written by Dr Ranjit Kumar
B:
Vizualizing Research: A Guide to the Research Process in Art and Design [Illustrated] written by Carole Gray (Author), Julian Malins (essential read book)
These two books I recommend every art students can use as a tool during your research.
What I want to share with every one is that, on today morning I shared my study experience with one of my friend who graduate from The Chinese University of Honkong. who major in social science. Both of us think that the study of method and methodology is very interesting and useful course.
Chinese mainland universities, specially for art students, we have less study of methodology
So, it might the reason why for international students, special for chinese students, we felt it a little bit difficult to understand and complete the learning agreement. Not only in our course ,but also the other chinese students who study in winchester school of arts.
